History and Purpose of Organization
Perpetual Help Home, Inc. is a Christian based restorative justice organization assisting women in breaking the cycle of incarceration and homelessness through making life changes, regardless of race, color, or creed. We help women become productive members of society with transitional support, new life-skills training and permanent supportive housing.
Perpetual Help Home, Inc. (PHH) began in 1995 to meet the need for a
place of safety and healing for women released from jail or prison. April
1997 brought the opening of a small home for residential services. With
an expressed need for a facility to also include women with their children,
the small home was sold and the ministry moved into a larger facility
in August 1998. Property in Yoakum was donated to expand the program in
the fall of 2000. In the summer of 2002, a grant allowed PHH to renovate
property for a larger facility and a small portion was designated to renovate
the Yoakum Home. In August of 2002, we purchased the home at 705 E. Santa
Rosa in Victoria. In December of 2002, the program was moved to the Santa
Rosa Home providing now a total of 44 bedrooms to assist women and children.
Perpetual Help Home is also a nationally certified site for Christian
Women's Job Corps and provides job and life skills training to women in
the home and in our community.
Since our doors opened in 1995, we've experienced exciting growth and continue to have an impact on our community. The primary success of the home is that the staff has provided a safe loving environment for women to change not only their life but the lives of their children!
