No one could have accurately prepared us for what 2020 has brought our way.
But, throughout the last 9 months, facing the ever-present need to make decisions I never imagined I’d be making and constantly asking, “What’s the right call here?” I have a little pink sticker on my computer keyboard to thank for grounding me. It simply states, “Perhaps you were born for such a time as this- Esther 4:14.”
Sometimes during this crazy year that sentiment is downright laughable and I have questioned it internally … “Born for THIS!?!” A closer look at Esther’s story gives a slightly different slant. It actually says “Maybe you came to your position for a time such as this.” And as a believer in an all-knowing God, the answer to “Born for THIS!?!” is a resounding “YES!” As crazy as it seems in the moment— I trust God that He brought me to Victoria to run a transitional home full of formerly homeless women during COVID-19. He has provided for Perpetual Help Home financially in spite of two cancelled fundraisers this year and meets our needs again and again. It hasn’t been easy, but He has brought us through!
But what about YOU? This year Perpetual Help Home needs your help more than ever. Could it be that God has brought you to this time and place, reading these words, because you can help make a difference in the lives of the women God will send our way in coming days?
To celebrate 25 years, we are asking you to donate $25 dollars or more to support continued operations of Perpetual Help Home. As COVID assistance lessens, the need for our services is going to be greater than ever.
It is because of long-term supporters like you that Perpetual Help Home has served women and children in the Crossroads for the past 25 years. And it will be by God’s grace and timing and your help that we will be able to serve for another 25.
Today, will you consider a gift of $25 or more to support the women of Perpetual Help Home?
Thank you for considering, and I encourage you to rest in God’s promise that you were born for such a time as this! (And, yes that means even THIS!)
Because of Jesus,
Bethany Castro
